Corpusty Drive

Residents will be aware that a public inquiry into a claimed public footpath from Corpusty Lodges to the village took place on 8th and 9th July 2025. We resisted the claim to designate the route as a public footpath.

We have allowed access to the Park for residents and visitors on a permissive basis for many years and it has never been our intention to prevent the longstanding permissive access to Corpusty Drive for local people.

But we resisted the claim to designate the path as a public right of way because we want to be able to control the impact of public access on the village and on the people who live in the gatehouses at either end.

After several appeals and a full Public Inquiry, the claim to designate the route as a public right of way was unsuccessful and the status of the path remains unchanged. You can read the decision notice here.
